The New York City Clean Trucks Program (NYCCTP) is a transformative environmental initiative implemented by the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) to promote sustainable transportation and improve air quality in New York City (NYC). The NYCCTP objective is to reduce emissions from medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks operating in NYC, especially in disadvantaged communities (DACs) and Industrial Business Zones (IBZs), by providing rebate incentive funding to support commercial fleet modernization.
For fleets who are considering battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), the NYCCTP offers the Fleet Advisor Program. This is a no-cost, no-commitment evaluation of your operations to determine whether BEVs and charging infrastructure align with your commercial fleet’s daily needs.
Under the NYCCTP umbrella, funds are also available to replace older TRUs located in the Hunts Point Produce Market (HPPM). Tenants and operators at the HPPM use stationary trailers with TRUs for additional cold storage. These trailers and TRUs are not registered as on-road vehicles, never leave the HPPM, lack current emission controls, and are inefficient to operate. The Hunts Point TRU Incentive Program provides generous funding for new all-electric, diesel-electric hybrid, or diesel TRUs that replace existing older units.
